Truth With a Capital "T"
(attributed to Buddha). It is based on the idea of a person's free will. It means having choice and a determination. It implies that a person feels their energy to be lighter when they know the truth for themselves. You can inquire regarding the Truth of anything with the following exercise.
Statement one: The Truth is always about you, no one else. The reason for this is that if the truth is about someone else then you are giving your power to that person. Choice is power. If power is in the choosing, then you must do the choosing, not them.
Statement two: The Truth is better than you think or thought it would be. If the truth, using our definition, will set you free and lighten you up, then a thought that is not better than previously thought is not going to lighten you up. That is to say, your energy will not be lighter as a result of a thought that is not better than you have thought before.
Statement three: The Truth is something you haven't thought before. If you had already thought the thought, you would be light and free and would not be inquiring into the truth.
Exercise #3: Truth
It is also important to know the three guiding tenets of the capital "T" Truth:
1. The Truth is always about you, no one else.
2. The Truth is better than you think or thought it would be.
3. The Truth is something you haven't thought before.
Question:
"What is the Truth for me that when I say it I will feel light and free?"
When you have an answer check to see if it fits the three guiding tenets above. If not just know that the answer you received is the small "t" truth.
Operating Principles
Your spiritual ideal functions in the dimension of feeling just beyond conscious thinking. Your values reside in the subconscious mind. Although they can be known and changed, these are the operating principles that are running and creating in your life. They are often beyond awareness until a trauma occurs.
For example, I have an operating principle that says that I love my family and honor it. This is an operating principle in my life only if I am demonstrating that principle. If I say that this is my operating principle but I am demonstrating a family torn apart by deception, a family in continuous upset, and give more time to work than family, it is nothing more than a wish or false principle.
Exercise #10: Operating Principles
To determine your Operating Principles, write down all of the things that you feel are important to you such as family, financial security, fun and exciting work, etc. List them in the field below. Do that now before your continue on.
